FAQ
Spam Call Blocker FAQ
The questions that come up while choosing a call blocker, answered plainly.
What makes a spam call blocker the best one?
It never blocks your trusted callers, it gives unknown, private, and spoofed numbers separate handling, it filters texts, it shows a reason for every block, it adapts by time of day, and its core features are free. Block Guard meets all of those in the free install.
Is a free spam call blocker good enough?
It can be, if the free tier includes whitelists, unknown-caller handling, pattern rules, and a log. Block Guard's free install does. Paying should add a layer such as AI risk scoring, not unlock the basics.
Will it block calls from my contacts?
No. Contacts and whitelisted numbers are checked before any blocking rule and cannot be overridden by a mode, schedule, or risk score.
What permissions does Block Guard need?
Call permissions to screen calls. SMS permission only if you enable text filtering. Android may also ask about default phone or messaging behavior depending on the handling options you choose.
Does it stop spoofed calls that look like my own area code?
It gives you the tools that do: prefix rules for your own first six digits, area-code and number-pattern rules, and spoofed-call controls that use verification where your device and carrier support it. No blocker can promise to stop every spoofed call.
Can I use it on a business phone that takes unknown calls?
Yes. Leave unknown callers ringing, block by pattern instead, whitelist key customers, and use a work profile and a closed-hours profile on a schedule. The business guide walks through it.
What is Premium and do I need it?
Premium adds Adaptive AI call risk scoring, managed through Google Play. It is optional. The free layers keep working with or without it. If you enable it, set risky calls to voicemail to start.
Is BestSpamCallBlocker.com independent?
No. It is a buyer's-guide and marketing site for Block Guard: Spam Call Blocker, published by RadStorm Technologies LLC. The criteria here are ones you can verify yourself in any app. The official product site is blockguard.app.
